Born in 1985, Nandita is a native New Yorker who received her B.A. from Columbia University in 2009. In addition to being a visual artist and a photographer, she is also a contributing writer at Z!NK Magazine.
Her photography explores the fantastical, the mythological, and the psychological - particularly the roles women play in these scenarios. By transforming everyday elements into mysterious and seductive environments, she attempts to merge the grotesque with the beautiful, creating a rather curious narrative. She takes pride in executing nearly all of the effects in her photos without digital manipulation.
Aside from fine art photography, her experience ranges from shooting music video stills to more traditional portraiture and fashion-related work.
Nandita lives and works in New York City is available for commissioned projects (especially creative ones!).
